Course performance

What is on this screen and how each part is worked out.

One table, six columns, and every one of them is a question somebody asks about a course. The same explanation sits behind the info tooltip in the product.

  • The table

    All courses

One row per course, searchable and sortable on every column. Nothing is paginated away: the whole catalogue is in one place.

  • Identity

    Full name, short name, category

Both names, because the short one is what appears in Moodle's own navigation and the full one is what people call it.

  • Reach

    Enrolments

How many people the course actually reached, so a low completion count on a large course reads differently from a low count on a small one.

  • Outcome

    Completions

How many finished. The number the rate is built from, shown beside it rather than behind it.

  • Rate

    Completion percentage

A colour-banded pill, so the courses that are not landing are visible down the column without reading a single figure.

  • Recency

    Last activity

When anyone last did anything in the course. This is the column that finds the courses nobody has opened in a year.

Where it leads

Where a course goes once the table has named it

The directory finds the course. These three screens say what to do about it, and each one is a real capture of that screen rather than this one.

  • Completion funnel

Where inside the course people stop, stage by stage, rather than only how many finished it.

  • Course readiness

Whether the course is ready to run: setup, content and the checks that fail before a cohort arrives.

  • Assessments

How the course's own quizzes and assignments are landing, and which items are doing the failing.
