Skills and capability dashboards

The Skills & Capability pack gives you five screens that turn your Moodle data into workforce answers: who holds which skills, which certificates are about to lapse, what training costs against what it produces, where roles fall short of the skills they need, and how far learners are through multi-course qualifications. They sit under Skills & Capability in the LearnBoard sidebar.

LearnBoard never asks you to build a competency framework first. Skills are derived from what Moodle already holds: courses, certificates and course tags.

Skills / Competency Matrix

A grid of learners against competencies, with a roll-up, the weakest competencies and skills held over 12 months. Read the guide

Who can open these screens

• Plan: all five are part of the Skills & Capability pack. On the standard plans that is Business, Scale and Enterprise. Without the pack, each screen shows “Part of the Skills & Capability pack, not included in your current plan.” A billing administrator sees View plans & upgrade; everyone sees Compare plans.
• Admin and Manager: all five screens by default.
• Viewer: none by default. The specialist modules are held back from Viewer. Roles are managed for the whole LearnBoard installation, not from your workspace admin screens.
• Team lead: Competency Matrix, Certification Expiry, Skills-Gap and Pathway Progress, each limited to the learners in their own Moodle groups. Training ROI is not part of the Team lead role, because it shows costs.
• Learner: none of them.

What each screen needs

From Moodle, always

Enrolments, course completions, course grades, certificates, course tags and groups. The Competency Matrix and the Supply view of Skills-Gap work from this alone.

Certificate setup

How long each certificate stays valid and which course renews it. Certification Expiry tracks every certificate as Permanent until this is set. Certificate setup

Training costs

Course development costs, a learner hourly rate and a benefit per completion. Training ROI shows a setup prompt until these exist. Training Cost Setup

Workforce setup

Org roles, the skills each role requires and who holds each role. The Demand view of Skills-Gap needs these. Workforce Setup

Pathways

Qualification definitions: stages, required and elective courses, and who is signed up. There is no screen to build them yourself in this version.

Note

Each screen says plainly when something is not set up, and links to the setting that switches it on where there is one. It never shows zeros in place of missing inputs.

Every screen counts learners the same way as the rest of LearnBoard: people with an active student enrolment. Teachers, suspended accounts and suspended enrolments are left out.
