Saved for a while
Each figure counts as current for a window your administrator sets. Past it, the next time someone opens the screen the figure is worked out again.
LearnBoard reads your learning platform live, but it does not ask Moodle again every time you open a screen. It works each figure out, keeps it for a short while, and works it out again when it gets old. This page explains how to tell how fresh the figures are and how to get newer ones. It is for anyone reading a dashboard.
At a glance

On every data screen, the right-hand end of the bar under the top bar shows Last updated and a time, such as “Last updated 4 mins ago”. The time is when LearnBoard worked the figures out, not when your browser fetched them, so it never claims more freshness than the figures have. Where a screen shows several figures, it gives the age of the oldest.
Refresh asks LearnBoard to work the workspace’s figures out again from your learning platform, then reloads every chart on the screen. To protect your learning platform, this is held to once a minute for each workspace.

Open screens check
A screen left open asks for newer figures at a regular interval, also set by your administrator. A browser tab in the background asks nothing, and catches up as soon as you look at it again.
Updated in the background
The screens and dashboard cards your workspace has used in the last seven days can be worked out again in the background, so the first person to open one in the morning does not wait.
These timings are chosen on Admin console, Data freshness, within limits the installation sets. LearnBoard and the Moodle plugin both follow them.
If the bar says Figures paused until the workspace is back within its learner limit, the workspace has reached 120% or more of the number of learners its plan covers. Every screen still shows the last figures loaded, but they are not refreshed until the count is back within the plan or the plan is changed. See Plans and locked screens.
A card pinned to a dashboard is redrawn from current figures every time you open the dashboard. It follows the same freshness rules as the screen it came from. See Custom dashboards.
